Balances of Life

Back To School Edition!
Well, school started and I promised to type shit out before it actually did start, but I was a little bit lazy so I am doing it now. As the saying goes, "better late than never" right? First of all, I would like to mention how the two months holidays was the best I have ever had. This of course was mentioned by me many many times throughout and it still won't change a thing. The holiday honestly feels very long, yet again like many things we all enjoy, it just seems that they end really quickly without us realizing how fast time flies. By the time we think about how all it started, it would just seem as though they happened quite long ago. I have to admit, they are filled with very fond memories which will follow me down the days which will fill my life with smiles again as I think back of how well time now was spent with my loved ones, family and friends. With that said, I think everyone would agree that no matter how good life can be, no matter how much we think things are perfectly normal, no matter how much life is going in our way, there are bound to be things which will happen that will mentally pull you down. Things like this usually make most people think back and wonder why the hell they were that stupid to do something which caused the current problem in which they are facing right now. I would like to share what has happened during the remaining two weeks of the holidays like hang outs here and there with family and friends before school started. Also, I have learnt a new skill, First-Aid, via a course during then which is kind of a surprise as I took a step up in learning something completely new which I have no idea why I participated in it, but it was for a good cause and gaining a new learning experience. The holidays was a little bit mixed but overall well balanced towards the good side. As the title implies, school's back, and I would definitely love to share how my experience in my first week of Year 2 turned out to be. It was surprisingly productive and it also feels very different right now although I am somewhat already used to the learning style in school. Another difference is that I don't really go to school with ST anymore, only once this current week and that was after a bit of thinking from the bottom of my dead cold heart. I will go into details about this later but now, I shall begin the transition of my life happenings.

1) The First-Aid Experience

"First time for everything".

I should probably tell why I had the chance to learn about First-Aid. I don't remember if I remember mentioning it on this blog but I was once on the Astronomy Club in Year 1 back then when I just joined Ngee Ann Poly with ST. We went to attend a couple of times once every Friday which is the main meet-up day with all the specialized events we never really went to. The first few sessions in Astronomy Club was when we tried to fit in and we actually learned about a few things of how people actually observe the various stars, the star systems and also how to differentiate between observing a star and a planet. It was all pretty cool but there was only one problem, it ended too late. I'm not complaining but when the 1st day ended at about 11:00 pm or so. I reached home at about 12:00 am and ended up sleeping as soon as I finished bathing almost not brushing my teeth. I was also still quite tired from the night before. I've heard of the same issue from ST and WY so one day we just did not go anymore and focused on our studies and project work which was pilling up a lot back then as we just joined the school. A while has passed and we all went to the second semester, me and ST along with some of our other friends decided to join the Lion-Hearters after hearing about it and knowing that the number of members are dwindling down hoping that we could help a little by being members. Frankly, we did not really know what the CCA really do other than help out during events. We also did not attend any forms of event so far and only recently did we find out what this CCA really does. During this holiday, we had the opportunity to learn about CPR and how we should respond to various other incidents which will happen to people. So I agreed to sign up and picked run 6 which spans from Wednesday (4 April 2018) to Friday (6 April 2018).

Apparently this is what their logo looks like.
This was a course which was being done by people from the Institution of Health Sciences, HMI for short. I know, it doesn't really match. On the first day which was Wednesday (4 April 2018), we learnt about the CPR procedures and the usage of the AED machine. There was of course the introduction to the course and the trainers before the whole thing started. It was all cool, everyone's laughing and shit before we started with the small lecture which taught us about what I have mentioned, the procedures of CPR and the AED machine.  It was quite interesting to see what is inside the first-aid kit as we don't really see it that often which is a good thing. Taking the course with me was ST, VC and also KX whom I usually go to the CCA with not to mention various lunch periods as well. Anyways, we were told that we all had to take a short MCQ test which was 10% of the component and another practical test which weighed in much more of the marks which determined whether we would pass or fail. While remembering the CPR was quite easy, the procedures for the AED machine was tough although we were shown how to do it as we are already tested after lunch. The lesson was quite eye opening as well as we were taught the procedures for doing CPR and much more than also just showing us what's inside the first-aid kit, what's inside the AED machine and the various procedures. Honestly though, I did not know there was this much things to follow through when we perform CPR and such. It never really crossed my mind because once if it really happens (touch wood), me and probably lots of other people who took the 3 days course would panic and not know what to do on the exact moment. We all went for lunch for roughly about an hour, and we went through briefly with the guy that taught us so we could refresh our memories. We were being tested for the 10% MCQ so we started out from that one and then we all went into the room pair by pair. I went in with KX as the practical requires the pair to be of the same gender. As you would have guessed it, we did terribly as we forgot certain steps and the procedures for both the CPR, handling the first-aid kit and also the AED machine. We both got scolded badly by the guy assessing us. I understand he wants the best out of us both but frankly speaking, he was a dick to us as we only just started memorizing that much shit during lunch time which was only about an hour. After the test, we all waited for each other and went home.

The 2nd day which was Thursday (5 April 2018) was pretty dry, as it was theory nearly the whole day. This was the day where we learned how to handle and help people if they happen to be choking, the forms and how to apply different techniques to people with different body sizes. We used our knowledge and had a game relating to this soon afterwards. We then learned about the various methods of tying the person up with bandages according to whatever injury they got. The type of injury consisted of bleeding, cuts and of course broken bones although I'm not sure on which day I learnt the broken bones part. Anyways, back to the story. We all learnt about the kinds of bleeding and from there we did a practice of the head bandage. The head bandage practice was pretty easy to do, applying the gauss to the wounded head area first then wrap around it for some force like a bandanna so dubbed that the method's name. If I can remember correctly, I think we did do an activity on tying the victim's legs according to where the injury is, the shins, the knees or the hips. It was a group thing so I did it with ST, VC and also KX. Furthermore, we also did practice on bandaging people for the arm injuries as well as the collar bone. All these were rather easy to practice and memorize as we were all able to apply what we learnt quite fast although it took some time to get all the forms right. I paired up with KX. This day was rather dry but we still learnt quite a fair share of things which is helpful if anything happens in the future in which we wish do not happen in front of us.

The process of handling choking cases.
A pictured example of how it is done, it's actually a video in the slides though.
It was the 3rd day, Friday (6 April 2018), and it was quite an important day for everyone taking the course because it was the day where we are all finally tested what we have learnt throughout the previous days as well as the last day itself. We were all told that it consisted of a 30 questions MCQ test and various practical we had to perform of what we have learnt, most notably the bandaging of the arm injuries, the choking move, the recovery position and so on and so forth. We did not immediately do the test however as we still had to go through a lecture before lunch time. This time, we learnt about how to handle bee stings. Turns out that we cannot immediately press the the needle and pull it out as we might press onto the sack which will release more venom into our body. We then learned about allergies and how snake venom affects us very badly in terms of physical health. Of course, we also got taught on how to handle these kind of cases if it ever happens. We had to do the 30 questions MCQ test first before lunch so we did. It turned out to be quite easy as I scored an easy 26/30 afterwards because after the test, we cross exchanged our scripts and marked for each other. Anyways, we had lunch time for about 1.5 hours. I headed back to the classroom earlier with KX as we wanted to practice the various arm bandage and the recovery position along with the shock position. More and more people got back into the class to practice as time went on. Finally, it was time to do the practical test. We had to go back to the main room to sit down and instructions were given to us and we had to go do the test in pairs. The first pair went and of course, I paired up with KX yet again. Sherry and Venson had to do with other people due to gender differences with each other. We all went in in 4 pairs for the second round. Me and KX got the oldest one of the teachers who was very nice and it's lucky for us as well because I wanted him to test us. It went very well for me for the first and only try although I had some difficulty answering some of the theory being asked. We were first sited down and being asked a few questions before the practical commenced with the teacher telling us what to perform and show him how it is done. After I was done, it was KX's turn. He did quite well also as he performed the steps smoothly. We got out of the room once we were done and waited for both VC and ST. VC was done but ST had to come out and practice again with lots of people teaching her how to do certain steps which she did not know how to do which kind of made the teacher who tested me angry. But alas, ST was able to make it. After a short debrief, we all got released with a farewell from the teachers who taught us throughout the 3 days. I must say I have learnt a lot and was quite astounded to find out there were actually many proper procedures for these kind of life-saving actions. Well of course like I said many times, I hope only to learn them and not use them as that means something bad is going on around me. With that done, we all went home and I went to BPP to have dinner with ST. It was initially going to be at Jurong East but she didn't have the money. That's where the next chapter of this post begins.

The Recovery Position, one of the easiest to remember.
Apparently, even easier to remember.

2) Rigor Mortis 💀

"So you see, that's where the trouble began, that smile, that damned smile".

As it is known through my close friends, or rather, my friends I know long enough that they know of my long history with ST. Some people might say, "Oh boy you're a dick for making part of a blog post about her". That's not really the case her. In fact, I'd like to give my thoughts on it and how I feel about it. I have have been thinking about it nearly everyday. A little exaggerated but I think about it a lot. It's been around 4 to 5 years since I first knew her and things hasn't been good recently and that is not an exaggeration. I'm not exactly sure when it all started but we messaged each other and it became much of a habit. I'm not even too sure as to how I started saying hi to her on our very very first conversation. I always did thought of her as one of my good friends since the Nitec days even as I was still together with my Ex, and no, that does no mean I cheated on my Ex. As friends, we got closer as time passes through Year 2 of Nitec and into Higher Nitec. Texting back and forth on a daily basis, it was one point in Nitec Year 2 that we became gaming buddies. Introduced her to games like Serious Sam 3: First Encounters which was quite the norm for us to hang out at after school or during the holidays just to pass the time or to challenge each other sometimes. It soon turned to Terraria as I gave her the game through the free game code I got from the people that made Terraria due to a mistake I had with the mobile version of the game. It was normal for us to spend quite a few hours playing the games together up to at least 02:00 am, tiring but I'd have to say, fun during those days. I find it stupid now but we used to always make promises to each other. Most notable was the one that if either of us are angry at each other, we would tell the other. Words were clear cut and we even pinky promised. Sometimes we'd tell each other things which were troubling us, although it had to take some form of slight conviction if it was her trying to say her issues. Back then, it was fun talking to her, fun and laughter with a friend who I felt comfortable confiding and talking to. Disturbing each other was quite the norm as well. We were in the same clique which the name I would not mention because I hate it. There were times some conversations about the group we still talk to in private.

For me, I used to think that this friendship would bloom far in the future. I was wrong. Never in my life have I ever been hurt this badly, nothing comparable. When I heard that she was involved in the June incident with those people, I took it upon myself to try and not believe what my friend have told me about it. Of course part of the truth came from the fact that I've never seen her during the June holidays as well and that she mentioned she was at home nearly the whole of the holidays. That coupled by the Batam Trip incident where she was suddenly upset with me and gave me no good reasons for it when we were somewhat confronting each other about it. Also, she acted a little bit weird at the first day of school after the June holidays. Turns out from my friend that this has been happening since the Higher Nitec days, where she was secretly in a relationship and that she was only compelled in telling and even lied that she wasn't when I asked about it sometimes. I only knew because my friend told me about it, one of the last few to know about it and I was still constantly lied about it by her. With that, ST also knew about R betraying me earlier on in the days without telling me, even though she was still questioning about sides. I knew whose side she went on to when she have been keeping this from me all those years and even been somewhat agreeing to R when she was just starting to be together, seeking approval from that witch. What was more compelling is the recent mishaps I have had with her during the 2 months long holidays during March. There was several outings which both her and JW was invited to but I will talk about JW later because it is not necessary now. The only time I ever did saw ST during the 2 months long holiday was one night when she just wanted to meet up WY to give him his birthday present. Side note, I only went that night because I was out with WY that time and she coincidentally called him down to JW's house. When we finally met, it was one of the most awkward meetings I have ever had with anyone since the day I lived. The atmosphere felt very threatening, I felt as if I was not welcomed and all the talking by them was pretty much forced out of them as I was there. My presence have established the fact for them that they could not say anything I was not aware of and WY was the only one that kept the conversation going. Basically, in a sense, I felt super left out that day as, there was even quite a number of times where the awkward silences lasted for at least a minute or more. The only other time I saw ST was the First-Aid course by our CCA that we had during the holidays so it doesn't really count cause we both had no choice. We didn't really talk during the course as well and we only did when we home from the second day of the course. We did not meet up as we usually did every time and the first day itself already said it. I was on my way, I took a peek out at CCK MRT station to see if she was there and went back into the train when no one was there. I received a message from her that asked if we were still meeting. I said no and it turned out that she was already waiting for Bus 61 at Bukit Batok when I asked, which is to say that she would have gone either ways even if I said we were meeting. When I reached Bukit Batok bus interchange, she was already gone and on the way to school.

There was a very notable incident about two weeks before this incident. WY offered both of us Admin jobs which pays about $7.50 per hour just to go around school helping them installing software to which we can relax while the software were still being installed. I was pretty excited for it as it was my chance to learn something new. It wasn't just about the money but for what I was about to experience in a new line of work. I said yes shortly after I was asked about it and I had to go for a first informal interview before having the second interview which was much more formal. Unfortunately enough in this case, ST was also offered the job first. Apparently I had to wait for her to go to the interview together. Nevertheless, I was excited for the job. However, I was to message to go to the interview with ST but after 3 days, she didn't want the job for reasons unknown. In the end, I messaged the guy regardless and, the job offering was closed. I was furious and agitated as to why she suddenly didn't want the job anymore. From what I heard, WY initially told ST that they were going to work together, but WY had another job so I was asked to go for the job instead so that I could work together with her and she just backed out because it was me going instead. When WY asked why she didn't go, she said it was because she thought WY was angry at her that's why she backed out. I find this excuse very stupid because why couldn't she just go to the interview with me? Am I that dangerous? Am I that much of a lunatic? I lost the job offer because of her stupid excuse for feelings that she overthink and did not care of how much someone else is waiting to go to the interview. She felt no remorse for what she did after her problem with WY was solved. She just take it as life per normal and thought it was okay to ruin other people's chances just because of her feelings. Thankfully I have my cousin's flyer distribution job though. I will never forget the time I heard she argued with WY, and out of anger when my name was mentioned she said, "Oh my god... Who the f**k cares about Kai Soon. LOL." It was very hurting hearing it because it was something I never really thought ST would say, but she did anyways behind my back, like most of the College West classmates that shunned me during the June Holidays. This nightmare have come true, and the ugly colors of ST finally being felt, seen and heard. I have been thinking about it very often, almost every day I would think, to what end does this unnecessary bickering will go? Have I been too nice? Have I been too lenient? Those tears after knowing her involvement in the June Incident was bad enough, wasted on someone else who just thought of me as a monster and not a friend. Whatever issues she have now, she would not even mention to me. Unless she tells me the problem so the issue between us might be solve, I would just have to end the friendship either ways. I did expect this to happen, I just didn't know it would hurt this badly. It just keeps getting worse as days go by. I think of it every day hoping for a solution to come pass, yet nothing. It is to a point where I believe it is futile to even try saving this friendship, that ending it is the only way to end this pain, to reach for a final salvation from this madness which is brought upon not by me, but by someone else trying to bring insanity into my life. Unfortunately enough, it is someone I used to think of as a close friend, with a friendship that would last long or even a lifetime, but alas, this will never reach and all I could do is just end it, being satisfied and saddened by the end of a bond between two people. Those tears wasted towards someone who does not give a second thought of how we used to be, how it grew and how it is currently falling as I type this sentimental words of grief and sorrow, with the realization that my true nightmare has come to pass, that of which the true colors of once my greatest friend have become one of my greatest regrets and failures of my life. Saddening how people always thought we are a thing for each other, yet it is the opposite of their assumptions, not knowing what one side is doing, what it is causing for the other side. Never will it ever come to pass, and this nightmare will continue growing as each day pass, with her growing more and more oblivious to what is happening between us and how it will never be truly solved.

2.1) The End

"Motherf....."

To lighten the load more, there has been something else which have been bothering quite a lot lately as much as ST has. That is JW. Both of them have a part in this very very traumatizing experience, so much similar to the incident I had with my Ex. Much like ST, she also have been avoiding me a lot recently. As WY invited her a lot and my name was yet mentioned, she suddenly could not make it. This brings us to the question to what happened? What did Kai Soon do? There's always this saying that I always ensure people know, "Kai Soon doesn't do everything". True enough, I did nothing wrong this time. I was just being me, a person trying to be nice and make amends for my mistakes. JW did not see that apparently, and much like the June Holiday fiasco, outings were deliberately planned without me knowing about it, and them being cancelled when I was going to be involved. To add oil to the fire, she's been hanging out with her psychopathic Ex who recently got into a creepy skirmish with her last year. In fact, from what I heard, it got so bad that the police was nearly involved. She also hung out with ZH during the holidays at Marina Bay and watching Black Panther together. Nobody is ever crept out by the fact that she was the one that wanted to get rid of him last time thinking he was a lunatic bent on stalking her every move for life, yet she hangs out with him and calling me a monster when she met up with ST and WY along with ZH, delivering yet another altered story. I'm not upset at the fact that she hung out with him but that she went back to him all because of a misheard advice she heard from a friend all while throwing me aside and thinking I'm the monster now. From what I heard from WY, she said she could not invite me to anymore outings because of my past of how I broke up with my Ex, which reminded her of how her Ex broke up with her publicly. I find this completely stupid because this is a very last minute and sudden excuse to make people sympathize with her so that she can just scoot off and make me look like the bad guy once again. How does her problem relate to mine? How does my past have anything to do with her bloody Ex? That's definitely not my f**king problem. I have my reasons for breaking up with my Ex, and it is definitely different from whatever she have faced. She have never said anything about this "Ex" before, nor this past. Why would she only said it now if it was that traumatizing for her? Why would she still even bother talking to me when I told them about my past a long time ago? If only I knew that all this would happen, I would not have chose to help her at all.

I was even willing to apologize to ZH for what I did, to try and see if something could come out of it. He avoided me as well one time like all those that made use of me back in the day when he was invited to go drinking for me. He insulted me when he was meeting up with some friends and it gets noticed as him reminiscing memories just because he has changed for charity? What he did last time is now known as him just be very in love with JW when JW was very afraid of her own safety near around her house? What is the meaning of this? What the hell... seriously, as much as I want to apologize to ZH, this is too much on their part. Just because he seems nice to her and such, I'm the bad guy now whereas in the past, I was being taken advantaged of in the efforts to get rid of him. Just because of a misunderstanding, just because of them not being to take advantage of me any longer, they see me as the bad guy now. To think everything would be back to normal when my 21st Birthday Party happened. They initially didn't even want to attend because they had "something on". It was only when WY gave them a little conviction that they suddenly went last minute, with JW telling me before that she could not make it. When they were there, they were the only ones that were anxious to leave although nobody really noticed that. I supposed the saying "All things come to an end" speaks true to this. This is pathetic, I hope they know what they are doing, I do not wish to be involved in their matters any longer. It is a waste of time and it destroys any mood I have thinking about it. This is very traumatizing. I think of it like the ST issue in hopes of finding a solution, yet it seems impossible because ZH, JW and ST all look like holy saints sent down by the heavens. In my opinion, due to past experiences, they're just snakes. Like all good things that end, I hope this horrendous issue will just end or eat itself up in the long run.

3) The First Week of School

"When the bell rings..."

It's not too surprising that school have already started. The March Holidays have been feeling very long and fun, but it has to end somehow. With the end of one thing, comes another in the form of school. It is definitely something no one is looking forward to, it is tedious and lots of work will come into your way as soon as we enter the lecture hall on our first day, especially when your school is Ngee Ann Polytechnic. Let's start with Monday (16 April 2018). To be honest, I was a bit excited to meet new classmates and to see the teachers I would be having this semester. So I went to school and reached about 08:30 am just in time for me to find the classroom which took me awhile to find at Block 71. After a while, I finally found the classroom. It is in the building that looked like a shipping container to all students there. I waited for class to started, but it did not. I waited for another 30 minutes and I just left to shit anyways because I suddenly a a stomachache. It tuns out there are no class for tutorials this week, and as an added bonus, there was even an email being sent that says there were no class. Apparently, I did not see the email properly. I ended up having breakfast at Munch after my toilet trip. Apparently the western food store there was replaced by new owners and the menu became new as well with quite a number of unseen items. So with that, I tried the breakfast set which was the most appealing to me at an early timing.

Oh lord... The sunny side up... and the two buns...
The breakfast set was not bad at all. There's the usual sunny side up egg with sausage and a slice of ham with butter for flavor. The unique thing about this is that there are two fried buns, something like man tou. They go well when I ate them with the butter, slightly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Despite how less the portion looks, it is actually quite filling for me. A perfect breakfast for me anytime as I am usually quite full in the morning. 7/10 Kai Points. Quite good for a morning school food. The price was reasonable as well. Just $3.00 per set. I had to wait even longer for the first lecture of the day and week to begin which was at 02:00 pm. Apparently when I tried to go to the next class to see if lessons was going to be on-going for that modules, I found EA there sitting alone and we ended up waiting together. Then, MS joined in as well afterwards while we were all waiting for the lecture to begin. Finally it was 02:00 pm and the first lecture ever was for Human Capital Management (HCM). The module leader for that is very friendly and is quite engaging towards us students. Surprisingly, the lecture was not as boring as we have all expected. Everyone went home after the lecture as there was no lessons afterwards. As for me, I met up with my secondary school friends (The Bacon Group) and WY of course at Causeway Point to have dinner together. While I was waiting for the bus outside of school, I saw CQ and went to Causeway Point with him to meet up the rest. We had a good chat before we reached there. So we ended up eating at Food Junction after waiting at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf where SC came awhile, which is similar to Kopitiam and we talked about how our first days of school were. RM is now part of Ngee Ann Polytechnic. She still seems quite happy about it, probably because the real pressure hasn't really begun yet. Everyone came including DT, SS and TK. We were all waiting for WH to reach here but we ended up eating anyways because we were all too hungry. He reached as we were all eating and we ended up waiting for him to finish and we chatted a bit more before we left for home. However, we decided to go up to Timezone instead to try out the punching machine. Each and everyone of us have a try at the machine, but CQ injured his hand half-way. I was able to get my 9,000 points score on my first try. We also tried out other games such as the famous basketball machine, the ice hockey and the rest of them even played the racing game. TK was hooked up to the claw machines around though which was fun seeing him do so. Afterwards, me and WY went to the cinema area which was just right next to Time Zone to try and book for Avengers:Infinity War which releases Wednesday (25 April 2018). We were successfully be able to book the movie for the opening day at 06:30 pm. I will tell how the movie is in the next post which won't be too soon. Anyways, we all went home afterwards.

Tuesday (17 April 2018) was a bit more or less the same, except this time I know that there isn't any tutorials so I just went for the Cost Managerial Accounting (CMA) lecture. The lecturer is the one we all have seen before during our very first semester for POA. This module is very much like POA just that it's a kind of accounting for managers and such I think. As with all first time lectures, it was pretty easy to go through and quite motivating as everyone was fresh and awake. As for Wednesday (18 April 2018), I went for Enterprise Creation and Development (ECD) lecture where we all met our lecturer for the first time, but she did post an article with her face on it on Mel so we all roughly knew what she looked like, although I did forget that she was a lady lecturer when I went into the lecture hall. We were all brought into the introduction on the module, the project requirements etc. So we all went home afterwards. There was no school for a lot of people on Thursday (19 April 2018) as there is no Interdisciplinary Studies (IS) modules on the very first week of school. However, I promised MS that I would attend this ITE Students' Hearing session at 04:00 pm which is meant to listen to ITE students' opinion on life in Ngee Ann Poly fro the very first day to see what they could do to better help ITE students due to the rather high withdrawal rates from ITE students. Before the session though, I went to watch Rampage at Lot One at 11:30 in the morning.

Big meets bigger.
I wanted to see Rampage as I have been hearing great things about this movie, about how good it was so I finally got the chance to see it before I attended the ITE students' hearing session. To my surprise, it was a really good movie. What touched me was the Rock's friendship with George the Albino gorilla. The starting of the movie where the last scientist got killed when she was escaping the mutated rat thing was a bit creepy, sets the tone right for the movie and the story grows from there. It was sad how George got pinned and hunted down just because one of the fragments hit him, which made him bigger. A wolf and an alligator got hit as well, although more of the spotlight was on the giant wolf. The alligator only came out towards the final battle of the movie. Kind of surprised how the wolf can fly but it was cool how he got killed by being snapped in the neck by the alligator. Unfortunately for George, he was the least powerful of the three, and the alligator managed to push him towards a big long pipeline which went through his chest. This was actually spoiled to me by CQ on Monday (16 April 2018) when we met for dinner. The only difference is that George did not really die but he just faked his death as a joke to the Rock. Afterwards he just helped people off rubble and they discussed about putting George in a new home. A good movie, good to watch in the cinema if there's still a chance but also good if it's watch at home when downloads are available. 7.5/10.

I went on my way to NP after the movie ended and reached there at about 03:00 pm, which leaves me about an hour to do a little bit of my notes for Business Analytics tutorial and videos. I was not able to do much as I ended up watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine till it was near 04:00 pm. I started to make my way to the agreed meeting place and just nice I met MS, EA and JC outside the place. From there, we started the session after being split into two groups with the MAEC and B-Stats module leader along with a lady I don't remember the position taking charge of the discussion, with the goal of finding out how they can help to improve the lives of ITE people in NP due to the rather high number of withdrawal lately. So my group had the MAEC module leader with the lady being in-charge. I'll be honest that  I did not really speak up much and I heard about the stories the other ITE people said. Apparently one of them, a guy from College West from a few years back, made an interesting point that if most of the lecturers put much more care into our well-beings, we would all actually have the confidence to ask questions and do even better with the hopes of passing through the 3 years in NP better. We used Ms W as an example of how a lecturer changed our perspective in learning in a very good way. She was my MAEC lecturer as well as the module leader for the module. The way she taught and engaged in us was very interesting, very unique and most importantly, she went all out to greatly boost our morale and increase our confidence so that we are able to strive harder to get a good grade for MAEC. For most of my classmates after the MAEC Common Test, they all got a personalized sticky note letter to encourage us to do better for the upcoming exams, which actually worked very well. We all then told how difficult it was for us to adapt to the life here as we missed out on orientation due to the fact that by the time we got our results, it was already the second day of orientation which we were not invited to. All we got was a small tour around the school and how we should see our timetable (which did not really help) along with seeing the Mel and Npal system. However, these things were not the ones to actually surprise me. What really hit me hard was how a girl told me her friend got really bullied by her classmates to which the MAEC module leader know about the matter as well. The bully was not done by O-Levels student, but in fact by one of their own, ITE students. Being hounded very badly by his/her peers until he had to change his class just so they can be avoided. It got so bad that the person drove himself to the corner probably due to the traumatizing experience he/she went through. After I heard about how bad it was, it made me really disappointed that some ITE people are doing these kind of things to their own, with some of them even disregarding O-Level people. It made me think about my ITE life as well, how I was being taken advantaged of, being bullied and being stabbed at the back by the very ones I used to call my good friends back in ITE College West. It made me empathize with the person that is involved and of course I was still hearing what the others was saying and I also tried to give my thought on the subject at hand. So it was about an hour long session and it finally came to a close with the promise that future generations of ITE students will benefit in NP because of the session. I do hope so as I wish to see that our voices are heard and that the bullying from each other would stop as it serves no purpose but their own inner desires for the satisfaction at the suffering of others.

Further towards the day after the session, I went to have dinner with them at Makan Place, right before we went around to search for suitable rooms to watch a movie. Unfortunately, almost every room we found that day was being used by a class. In the end, we were able to use the big room in the middle of the library where the projector was used to watch the show "A Series of Unfortunate Events". It was quite an interesting show with quite a surprising tone to a rather dark beginning, although there were some humor involved which made it quite interesting. We watched about two episodes before I left for home at about 09:05 pm. It's not not really need for me to mention Friday (20 April 2018) as it is the same as the other days, with one lecture and this time, it's for Financial Management (FMGT). The lecture included introduction and the modules assessment brief before we got took to the very first topic for the module. The lecturer seems nice too, although he can be quite rough on his need to maintain quietness in the lecture hall. So far so good. I have been the most productive this week, doing all the tutorials and getting the next lecture's slides printed and ready for viewing for lectures. The physical lecture slides and tutorials made me a bit more willing to pay attention during lectures and do my tutorials. I just hope it can go on for the weeks to come during my second year in NP, working hard till the end.

4) The Renovation

"Can we fix it?"

Now that is being shared, I never mentioned how during this period that my both toilets in my house are being renovated. Yes, it's been planned for quite some time even before my 21st birthday celebration. Now it's finally happening. My family and I had to cover everything in plastic even move a few things into our rooms, along with covering the entire kitchen counters with giant heeps of plastic bags. It was agreed that I share a room with my mom and my dad shared a room with my bro for the period of 10 to 11 days as the construction was on-going. During the first day as it happened, it was very very messy. The floors of my house have to be boarded so that the heavy machinery and necessary materials can be moved in and out of the house. During the time of their work, we had to leave our door open so they can come in freely and out so that it will be easier to mobilize themselves. As I was mentioning the firs day, it was extremely noisy and messy as they covered everywhere leading to both the toilets in my house. Me, my mom, my dad and my bro went out in the morning to the market to just hang around and eat breakfast there. The usual prawn noodles we have there was already closed so we just went ahead and tried another stall which was also not bad in its taste and flavor. Apparently we had sugarcane juice as well but turns out it was $1,80 per mug and it was too sweet and the amount was not a lot, which is to say that it's a bit too pricey. Over the few days before the holidays end, my family and I have been going around to buy toilet accessories such as commonly going IMM to look at them. There were times we went to different places such as lighting at Balestier, the one near-by my house and we just compared prices and see which accessories were cheaper so that we can save more overall. It was quite difficult for us to come up with what to buy so it took us some time to decide which to buy.

As we thought the period of the toilets being renovated was going to be a bad thing and sleepless nights, it did not turn out to be the case as I kind of enjoyed it. Since my mom and I had to share a room, I had to put another bed right next to me desk. This means that I could just sit on the bed and use my laptop that's on the table which is super comfy with the air-con being on most of the time we were home. We bought snacks and I got to watch Brooklyn Nine-Nine on my laptop for comfort. Furthermore, I have to bathe t the public toilet which was built just fo residents when their toilets are being upgraded. Like I mention a lot of times, the first few days were not getting used to by us due to the fact that the hot water literally doesn't really help with the cold water. I just slowly got used to it over time and in fact, it became quite comforting to use the toilet to bathe and shit (literally). I guess as the toilets were being upgraded, residents around especially my neighbors are more bonded as they talk to each other more about the program especially us. It kinds of feel good to know how we all are bonded by such things and knowing everyone around is as friendly as you thought they were. I do hope my toilet upgrading gets down quick though cause I heard that it's upgrading would be completed on Wednesday (25 April 2018), the day where I watch Avengers: Infinity War with WY.

The Usual Conclusion...

"I know..."

Things have been again quite mixed, or I would it was very well balanced. It's just that the bad part of things were very unexpected, coming from a person I used to dearly care about, to an end where this form of care is a double-edged sword, mangling down at my chance at happiness with the curse of knowledge. Despite this however, the first week of school was wonderful and I do hope to meet my new classmates really soon. I know I might have probably seen some of them but they seem pretty friendly. Life will become stressful in Year 2 starting the second week, I just know it. The projects and tutorials all coming in, and I'm quite surprised at the fact that I'm even starting to worry about doing tutorials despite the fact that I do not really do any of them back in Year 1 especially the term where I had to do B-Stats. However, I do hope I get to learn more new things, meet more new people in the coming months ahead of me. I do admit one thing though, it's going to take me some time to get over the betrayal from ST. I can't wait to watch Infinity War. This movie have been hyped for so long and when that day comes, it's really going to be awesome, which is technically the coming Wednesday (25 April 2018). In related news, RM's 21st birthday is coming up soon on Thursday (10 May 2018) and I can't wait to go to the Cheveron which she have book for the very special occasion. I'm glad to be a part of it and I should probably start looking for the present really really soon plus making the card as well. It's going to be awesome with everyone there like my 21st birthday at my house, that was very epic.

I'm not sure when I'll update again because I might become a bit more busy with school work. Probably soon enough? There might be some really interesting hings I will share over the course of me not updating this blog for a while so as they always say on TV, stay tuned!

The Happening of Happenings

The Unforeseen Sharing Session
It's posting time! I know it's only been a few days since I had that super long post about lots of things that have happened since last year. Well, I'm in the mood for this, planning to make it more often so that it looks lively in here. Also due to the fact that I'm quite bored now. So basically I'm just going to be sharing about new experiences I have learnt over the holidays currently. Okay I've done all of them before but it have been quite some time since I have fully done so. These were the bits and pieces that I have previously left out and the most significant activities are cycling, reading and of course, working. By a lazy person's normal standards, it's very impressive to me. Other than just being lazy, I can never stress how I never did a lot of things back in the June holidays of 2017 just because it was so overwhelmingly negative. Anyways, since the current holidays have started, it's been very peaceful and quite happy all around so I have been able to catch up with quite a number of things which I previously could not. I needed a change where I find ways to enjoy and improve myself physically and mentally. That's right, physically as well and you definitely know what that means. I'll get to that later. There are small issues which are quite solvable but it is honestly not the time. Thinking back sometimes, I have come a long way from a road of sad and depressing days to the current times where birds sing as loud as someone fully farts. Rainy days also feel peaceful now. I'm loving it! All of it! Took quite a while to get used to the peaceful life setting that we all should have. Funny how I'm saying that cause nobody usually says, "Get used to the peaceful life". Yes, June 2017 was that bad.

1) A New Hobby? Or An Old Habit?

"Reading a book is like eating a potato chip".

As I have said previously, or many times, I have been trying on new things which I find to be able to mentally improve myself and learn new things. One such activity is strangely, reading. Why I say strangely is because I was once a person that never read at all in the past, not even a single paragraph. The only reading I would do is definitely during the exams which was something we could never really learn anything from. We're all so rushed and tensed from finishing all the shit in time, most of us never really remember what we have revised for the exams. Well, a sharing of me. The most innocent times for me like most people, was of course primary school where things were simple,  friends were friends. There never was people having enemies, almost everyone were friends. Tests and exams were somehow never really the issue. In fact, I've already forgotten that they were ever that serious besides the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE). Thankfully I made it out of primary school although I was one of the only few people in the class that were only eligible to go to the Normal Technical (NT) stream for secondary school. The rest was at least available to go to the Normal Academic (NA) stream. Well, I was happy enough because heck, I've just passed my PSLE without any failed subjects which was already really good for me.

Apart from reading from the exam papers, the closest I have ever touched a book where waiting for the assembly in the morning, we would sit down and wait for the rest of the students to come. Most of you might remember, or your school does the same thing too (if you remember), there would be a short reading time where we had to bring our own books to read. Furthermore, we would also have to read a while more when they assumed everyone have came. To be frank, I didn't really utilize that time to actually read. I just pretend to sometimes so I do not get caught just lazing around doing nothing. At times I would forget to bring a book so I just face the music, or borrow one from a friend that didn't really care for the rules. Those were really good times. Surprisingly I could still remember some of the most significant moments that happened back then. I will share it later. Fast forward to secondary school, Riverside Secondary School was where I studied. There was also, daily reading which took place every week implemented by the school. If I'm not wrong, and I'm not wrong about this at all, we had to pay for a subscription for the newspaper to come. Yes, we read newspapers every Friday. We had to sit in at the Sports Hall every Wednesday if I am not wrong, before lessons start. This time things were much more strict they what my primary school did, those talking and making noise to be punished or scolded. With the sports hall containing nothing but teachers and the whole hall empty, I had to read. Of course there were some articles which interest me a lot. There usually wouldn't be enough time for me to finish the whole newspaper and some articles were just not interesting enough.

I guess these moments from my schooling days contributed a little bit to my reading habits now. What really gave me a start for reading was actually Star Wars: Thrawn. It's a book about a Star Wars villain called Grand Admiral Thrawn. I came to know about him watching the show Star Wars: Rebels. I got interested in his character and came across the book the author, Timothy Zahn, recently published. Once I started reading the book, I did not realize this when I was younger but, I tend to think up of the scenario which corresponds to what was written in the book and that actually felt really good. With that, I ended up buying other books which I found interesting and I could read after finishing the Thrawn book (which I already have). Besides buying the Thrawn trilogy as well, I went as far as to buying some philosophy books as well. I don't know why I would but I think it's because I want to read something more in-depth. This philosophy book, "The Rights Of Man", is the first one and I would dare say it is quite interesting and in-depth as expected. I am still currently reading it now though.

2) Time to Get Physical!

"GAINS!"

As stated by the title, physical activities is also what I have been doing a bit more. Most notably they are gyming and cycling although I cycle much more as it's sort of the craze among a lot of people nowadays with services such as Ofo and such. Let me start with gyming. It can be contributed to the time I have spent in the gym at school (Ngee Ann Poly) because of Sports & Wellness every Friday. That kind of learning every week got me interested although I did more running on the thread-mill whenever I went to the gym for lessons there. However, it was not really my first time doing it though as I have gymmed various times with WY. Of course this time, I want to be healthier by going there regularly since I have the time now and not having to worry about school work. Of course I would want to go there on my own comfortable pace so I can try and get the momentum. The last time I went was last week or the week before at the Woodlands Sports Hall. It was a really good start for me. I started with the various exercises involving the dumb bells which I have been doing most of the time I was there. Despite the air-conditioning there, I actually sweated which is quite normal but a good improvement for me. After finishing with the dumb bells, I went to the machine area to pull the weights. It was a little bit scary for me as every single other guys in the area was pretty huge, like really muscular and I was the only one that was skinny. I went ahead with my plan anyways. Besides, it does not really hurt from trying. I managed to do about 3 sets of it but it was not really good once I was finishing my second set. I've gained a little bit of confidence once I noticed nobody was really paying attention to how I did my weight pulls or whatever people call it as it was not really too good after the second attempt. Afterwards, I began to do the exercises all over again and decided to stop after about two exercises.

I went to the mat and did three planks for a minute each then I went off to have a run outside at the running track located at the Woodlands Stadium. It was not surprising that I also saw students there for their lessons or CCA. Reminds me of the time where during my secondary school, there would also be runs like this for our Napfa test. The most significant one I could remember was during secondary 3 where it was held at Republic Polytechnic (RP). It feels to me that it was one of the biggest one we ever had for years held by RSS. Of course I passed but didn't really receive any forms of color from doing that well. Anyways, back to the main topic. So I went to the Woodlands Stadium and ran for two rounds on the running track but it was not very well done as I got tired really quickly as it was quite hot. I think it was also because I had only been running on the thread-mill all the time. Still, it was an overall good gym day for me and I met up with WY afterwards. I will definitely go again like I planned to, just in my own comfortable pace as I'm not really wanting to fully become a gym junkie.

Cycling have also been another form of physical activity which I have taken part in aside from gymming. I have been cycling with my friends since the holidays started. Most of the time is because we were having outings and we didn't really want to walk, but that is also because what made us want to cycle more as well. I had to ask them for help in unlocking my bike though as I did not have my own Ofo pass plus the fact that I did not have a credit or debit card to allow unlocking. It was only recently I bought the Ofo pass after talking to my mom about it, and I was able to unlock my own bikes so that I could use the bikes for convenience sake as well. This was due to largely how tiring it is to walk block from block from work and by walking back to where I was supposed to report to after finishing my work (which I will share more later on). Since I have been recently cycling more often than I have expected, I have noticed something quite different as well. My legs get tired much more quickly than they used to be when I cycled now. As compared to now, I think it's also because the bike I used back in the younger days was with training wheels. They definitely made it much easier for me to cycle when I was a little boy. It still did not explain how I actually gained the skill of cycling with just the normal bike. I remember the first time I tried the normal bike, I could instantly ride on it with no issue after about 5 minutes. It was not long to get used to it as well. I would definitely be cycling more often to get to places as it's better than waiting for public transport and at times, it is much faster as well. Food will also become much more delicious as I cycle more to those places to eat after sweating it out.

3) Short Work Life

"Don't be busy, be productive".

Working used to be something that would be in the last thoughts of my mind last time. That kind of mindset changed as I now wanted to earn the money so that I would not have to ask my mom for the allowance. Eventually, this plan worked out when my cousin let me work to distribute flyers for Thoughts Box, a tuition center which she opened up quite a while ago. I did help her before, bu not as active as recent doings. Furthermore, there were two types to this job, one is standing at a place and giving them out, and the other was to go door-to-door and place the flyers at doorsteps. Both of them have their fair share of tiring requirements which most people would gain after a while of doing this job. It was $7 per hour for the one where I was only required to stand near an MRT station and hand them out to people, while it was $5 per block for the door-to-door flyer job. People reading this might be thinking how little the pay is for $5 per block. Well, the good thing is blocks come with different floors which could speed up the process most of the time as compared to blocks with at least ten floors up. Another good thing about it is that I could take breaks whenever I require so long I get the job done which is also quite the equal to working when I'm available for the day. Of course I try my best not to take breaks as I could get the job done faster but I'd at least take a break once as standing or walking up and down is really very tiring, much like my internship at Maxi-Cash last year where standing was pretty much part of the job scope.

The easier part of the flyer job would be of course standing and just handing them out. You can learn quite a few things just by doing that. Most notably, people's expressions and/or whether they would actually accept the flyers or not. There are a lot of nice people who's willing to take the flyers from me not because they are interested in what the flyer was about, but they just take the flyer because they understood the pain of trying to clear up the flyers that was intended for them. There were people who was genuinely interested in the tuition offered to kids and they wanted to know how much each subjects cost. There was a few who just knew that I reached my hand out and try to give it to them but they just did not take it at all and still looked really straight, as if there were nothing there at all. Some also looked pretty pissed as well and it felt as if I offended some of them or I invaded the privacy of their daily lifestyles. Those was pretty turn off, but still, there was a lot of people who took the flyers so it was okay. The slightly hard part of it is the standing. Doing that for a few hours straight could be really tiring for the legs especially without moving for an hour or two and I constantly have to sit down for 5 minutes as I do my job longer and longer.

I have been handing out the flyers by standing near the MRT station for quite some time now especially at Marsiling MRT station, sometimes opposite of the station itself. It was only recently when this holiday started do I had the chance to go block-by-block to give the flyers door-to-door. This was simply called the "Block Run" to me. Well, simply put, my task was to place flyers on the doors of residents from blocks 301 to 315. I did most of the blocks on a Saturday itself before meeting my friend for dinner. Apparently, the first few blocks were quite easy to do although there were many sections to go by and the layouts were pretty confusing for the first few blocks as well. This part of the job was quite interesting as I got to see different houses and there were even some whee their doors and corridors were very well decorated. Most people have their corridor decorated with plants. It would be "littered with plants" to most people living near-by unless they got to steal the fruits or flowers. Anyways, things was easy until I reached block 307 where each block started to be at least 10 levels high with confusing layouts. The only exception was 312 but I only did that block the next day. It was really really very tiring running down after taking the lift to the very top floor a few times due to the different layouts of the building. I ended at about 07:00 pm with 310 being the last block I did for the day before I went to collect my pay. Managed to get about $70 that day so it was all worth it. I then went to meet my friend to eat dinner at Bukit Panjang Plaza (BPP). The next day, Sunday, I went on to finish distributing the flyers at the remaining blocks from 312 to 315. So it was another $15 for the job. I would say it was an overall well balanced experienced as it have been a while since I last worked like that during my school holidays. The last time I really worked was Secondary School. I did work during ITE as well but I do not count that as it was like a one-time one day event. I hope I do get more opportunities to work like this before the curent holidays end and school starts again.

4) Food Ventures! 😋

"Who doesn't love food?"

I have been implying this for quite  while already, or I have not, I have been going around trying different food with my friend WY, of course with TK as well. However, I am just going to be sharing one instance of that "food hunting" I have with WY just recently. It was on Monday, 26 March 2018. We met under his house and we took a Grab to the place near AIA building where the Claypot Laksa is. The place was rather empty, or vacant I would say with a few stores open for business. Anyways, we ventured into the hawker center and it took us at least 2 rounds before we actually found the place.

Claypot Laksa! Yum yum!
Yum yum! The above shows the Claypot Laksa in its full glory! It came with the claypot (of course) and surprisingly enough, there was shredded chicken inside which is quite uncommon if it was a laksa dish. As anyone reading this would already notice, the laksa gravy is not the usual watery gravy used by most cooks nowadays. The gravy from the Claypot Laksa is thick and it's somewhat like a gooey paste on top of the Thick Rice Vermicelli. Along with the gravy is the traditional Tau-Pok and the chopped up coriander. Look at that, I forgot there's sliced fish cake as well which is also very common in all laksa dishes. We just sat there and ate. It was delicious. I like how the the paste-like gravy mixed quite well with the noodles when we slurp them down for the first time. The gravy itself became more watery the longer we ate. The spiciness of it is slightly more spicy than usual laksa and it is just nice for people who like to eat spicy food but not really too spicy for people going to that kind of life shortening spiciness. If only they added a whole hard boiled egg or even just sliced ones will make it perfect. The portion of this laksa was just nice and it wasn't too much as well. I would recommend everybody to try this if they are adventurous and want to try something new, this would be good but of course, it's laksa with a different twist. 8/10 Kai Points!

Me and WY didn't just go to this Claypot Laksa place to eat just that. This place was near the Alexandria branch of IKEA which is also near the Queentown Mall (I think that's what it's called) which we went to walk around looking at the different sports equipment they offer there. Well, yes. If anyone's looking for any sports gear, that's the place to go. There's a lot of variety there from Basketball to Swimming equipment. Apart from sports gear and equipment, this is the place where the Katong Laksa is. We've went there several times together, sometimes with our other friends as well. After walking around for some time, we just went to the first floor where the place is, sat down and ordered a bowl each of Katong Laksa.

Coconut goodness! Sweet!
Yes, shown above is the Katong Laksa as mentioned. There's a lot of coriander in the laksa soup along with the pork-like things which I don't really know what they're called. There's also quite a fair amount of chilli on the side which is not really spicy at all which is perfect for anyone who wants to try this. The difference between this and the previous Claypot Laksa is that for this dish, the soup have been cooked with much more coconut milk than usual so there is a slightly more sweetening coconut taste while also retaining the original laksa taste. As like all laksa found in Singapore, there was sliced fishcake as well but no hard boiled egg. It was still very good. Let's not forget to mention that since this is Katong Laksa, we eat this with a spoon instead as the rice vermicelli is cut to the point where the need for chopsticks is no more as they can be easily picked up with a spoon. This serves as a much easier way to eat laksa. Also, much more enjoyable in a way. Hooray for people who doesn't know how to use chopsticks, but who doesn't know how to use chopsticks at this particular age right? Anyways, my point is that this Katong Laksa is delicious, enough ingredients well spread around and the portion is more than enough which is very filling especially when I had the Claypot Laksa earlier. This is also highly recommended to anybody's who has a passion for trying out new food! I won't say foodie cause it feels weird saying it. 8.5/10 Kai Points! Yum!

I'm going to talk about the dinner as I want to give it a little mention as well. After finishing the Katong Laksa, we went to TK's house to chillax and watch some movies, but we do not mention what movie it was as it was literally disturbing. We did lay various games as well while TK was playing Pokemon on his desktop. Afterwards, we head down near-by for dinner as we did quite a few times before. I had myself a Char-Grill Chicken from Char-Grill.

GASP!!! CHICKEN!!!
I felt like eating chicken that night so I ordered this. I chose Potato Salad and Mac'N'Cheese for the sides as I have a thing for Potato Salad. It's just that good, almost like Mashed Potatoes but with more taste. How Char-Grill Chicken and Aston's do their Potato Salad is my favorite and it's kind of the reason why I like it. Anyways, back to the topic at hand. The chicken itself was flavorful with sufficient sauce being put on it which adds on to the taste of the chicken although it's a little bit too oily. Despite that, it was quite thick which would make anyone full which is also similar to the chicken Aston's serve. There used to be an Aston's near-by my house which is a short walk away. I remember ordering Crispy Chicken with the same sides but with fries instead. However, I remember I vomited later at night due to the fact that the chicken was extremely oily which made me really bloated and, yeah, you know the rest. I think they used too much oil back then but now, I'll tell how it is when I have the chance to eat it again some day. Now for the chicken that I had under TK's house, the portion was just nice and it made me really full. I don't know why they put lettuce under my food but I never ate them anyways plus they just added to the aesthetics to the dish. I like Char-Grill a lot behind Aston's, it's just that I don't really like the Crispy Chicken from Aston's due to the experience I had mentioned. So this gets 7.5/10 Kai Points. Just get it when you're really hungry or you don't have much choices, otherwise get something better if you want something which would make your dinner a very pleasant experience. Coffee shops do have very good food too but quite a number of them need to be found while for some, they are already known, like hawker food.

5) The Ending Break

"Even the longest day have its end".

As the title implies it, the holidays are coming to an end. School is starting really soon and I'm very sure everyone is not looking forward to that kind of stressful life again, but everything has its end and comes the new beginning. The good thing is that it is the beginning of Year 2 for everyone and unfortunately, we're all split up into different classes. I'll get into that later but now, I'll like to share how I did for the final exams before the holidays started which I have mentioned in a previous post titled "Long Stretch of Life Lessons and Enjoyments". I was really surprised at how I did, how my final results turned out to be. It was something I could have never thought of during the moments I was studying for Macroeconomics, Organisational Behavior, Business Management and lastly, the hardest out of them all, Business Statistics.

Holy Balls! Improvements!
Apologies if you all have to squint a little bit to see but yes, the current results I have mentioned. What really was the biggest surprise upon seeing the results is the fact that I passed my B-Stats with a clean D+. You all might be wondering at this point, how is a D+ clean in any results (not that kind of D)? Well, it really was a difficult module to actually understand which leads to even greater difficulty in revising each of the chapters. I remember clearly I revised from chapters 1 to 7 and the chapters onward was too difficult for me to absorb, ending me in finishing the revision at chapter 9 with chapter 10 just a read-up. As mentioned before, the exams was terribly undo-able, with at least 3 pages left blank and a few questions being done last minute in hopes that there would be some "mercy" marks being given. In the end, the results turned out better than expected! Last semester, I got 3.5 for both current and cumulative. As seen, both of them are slightly higher now with my current being 2.750 and my cumulative being 2.6739. What I think contributes to this slight increase in my GPA is my Innova Toolkit module where a lot of the assignments contained sketching which I am quite good at. My designs were well done but the only problem I had was that I could not write out the explanations properly which actually helped solves the problems given to me as a sort of case study. I managed to get an A for it in the end though so it's all still good. I am very happy with this despite it being a slight increase as it is still quite an improvement to me after all the hard work I have put in for the semester. School's starting soon and of course I would work extra harder to increase my GPA to a 3.0 if that is possible.

A short moment afterwards, I had to choose my IS module choices according to which one I preferred more. We could only input a total of 6 choices. I have chosen Social Psychology as my 1st choice with Understanding Relationships: Love and Sexuality as my 2nd choice and Art as my 3rd choice. It was quite a difficult decision for me as I kept intercepting my choices until the very last minute when I finally picked Social Psychology as my 1st choice before the application closed. What we got was shown directly as our timetable was coming out, which also means we will know which class we got into. As the day the timetable came out, some of my class asked which class each of us got into while I asked some of them. Apparently, as I know of now, I am only in the same class with 3 of them, with 2 of them quite well known to me and a girl which I don't talk much to in class. Furthermore, I am in a different class with ST, something which I have expected for quite a while. I will not be used to going to school without her but it's bound to happen some day so I will have to get used to it fast. At least I won't feel bad about listening to my music all the way now. I hope things would work out well for her in the other class as a high number of my current classmates are in the same class with her. May we cross paths again some days in school often and maybe lunch sometimes if she wants, which I doubt she would agree to. Anyways, I hope my new class would be a much smoother one as it is my 2nd year here although I know it would be much more challenging as there are much more modules to handle on a daily basis. May most of the new people I am going to meet be nice, some might already be the ones I already know but they're just hi-and-bye friends, although I cannot expect much for now.

A little sharing.
Just to share with you all, this is how my new timetable is. Seems pretty manageable except the first 2 days when lessons ends at 06:00 pm. It's going to be very very tiring for those 2 days. Aside from that, I start at 08:00 am on Wednesdays but the very good thing is that lessons end at 12:00 pm so there is sufficient time to do other things, which would most likely be naps and probably studying. Other than that, rest is always essential as it would make memorizing easier but it would definitely dry out very fast when we are in classes or when we actually try to study. some of the days the lessons end made me believe that this is the morning timetable, but the known timetable of other people also have the same ending time for the first 2 days. There's only slight differences between each of our timetables. This is probably why the school didn't want us to choose our timetable and randomly picked it for us instead.

The Concluding...

"We never know what's ahead".

I probably have said it before but I will just say it again. I am enjoying this holidays a lot although school is starting really soon. Had quite a number of new experiences and learnt quite a number of new things. Best of all is of course, there is peace (somewhat) as R is not around anymore. Of course since there is still a few more days of the holidays left, it is best to enjoy what I can before the dreaded studying life starts again. One of the few outings worth mentioning is of course during Tuesday, 20 March 2018 where WY and I went to visit Mr Devon at ITE College West with a few gifts for him. We tried to visit Mdm Seet as well but we found out that she was at Japan so WY left his gift at her pigeonhole. Afterwards, we headed to J-Cube and met up with TK to have dinner.  ST and Jw was supposed to come too but they couldn't make it for reasons we probably don't know. Actually we know the reasons but it isn't nice to say here. They and their excuses. Astons was super crowded with people lining up all the way to near the toilet so we ended up having dinner at some sushi place, it was a little costly but the sushi there was good. However, it didn't really made me full so I had Maggi supper later on at home. The night afterwards, Wednesday, 21 March 2018, WY and I went to watch Detective Chinatown 2 at JEM. It was a very nice movie as promised by WY.

Well, as I have said before, may the remaining holidays be a fruitful and of course, a peaceful one. I would love to share anything that have happened over the course of the last 2 weeks of the holidays. There has of course been happenings that have transpired this week but I will share it in another post which I will type out quite soon definitely before school starts. So stay tuned!

Yours sincerely,
YKS
