Toiling the Weeks Away
As the title implies, things are still quite busy at school right now but I still got some time to kill. Most of the projects are done now where the project for Service Operations Management (SOM) recently got finished and submitted on Wednesday (16 January 2019). Now all that's left is the Marketing project which is going quite well, after which would be revising for exams all the way, cutting through this year's Chinese New Year as well. I think I have said before in my previous post. A little bit stressed because there's quite a lot of things to remember especially with having two Accounting modules.

Recently on Thursday (17 January 2019), I've just finished two major graded assignments. I say they are major because to me, one of their weightage is quite large in portion, while the other one consists of a question with multiple parts and it contributes to 10% of the overall grade. The Business Communication 2 (Bcomm 2) Interview Assessment and the Cost & Managerial Accounting (CMA) Individual Assignment respectively. Thankfully, I did quite well for the interview assessment and I am quite confident to score well for the CMA Individual Assignment.
1) January Trapping Time
Do you ever have this feeling that January somehow always lasts longer than the other months? Think about it now. It's practically nineteen days into 2019, it is very fast and I believe most of us would think February is next week, or even the next few days for some. Also, it feels like we have done so much already, but we still have about two weeks to go. I don't know if it is just me or others feel the same way about this as well as this was quite a noticed phenomenon for last year's January if I remember correctly. People had this feeling that days felt like weeks, weeks like months, months felt like years and so on. I'm not sure if people are still having the same feeling or not, but most probably not as I do not really see people posting about it anymore for now. Maybe we will see the posts soon? Only time will tell, but only two weeks left.
2) The 10 Years Challenge
Now this, I am very sure all everyone has heard about it. It's all over social media of people comparing photos from ten years ago to how they currently look like now, and even I have done it on my Instagram as well. It just suddenly appeared from the second week of January and it became viral. Well here, it's definitely going to be stories instead of photos. Back in 2009, I was still in Primary Six struggling quite badly for my Primary School Leaving Examinations (PSLE). My very first stressful moment in my journey of education, partly because I was very bad at Chinese and Mathematics as well. However, the best part about my Primary School phase was the two good friends I had. I remembered we would eat together every time during lunch breaks like every good friends would. We were rather special, in a way that we would create our own unique way of having fun with each other during our free time in school. Most notably, we'd make board-games out of cardboard and draw out chess pieces before cutting them out. Good times. I wonder how the two of them are doing right now.
Now into the present, 2019. It's not bad too, although life now is not as carefree as it used to be. Now, everything is just more expensive, people have expectations on you, there's always school work to do and I'm practically an adult now as well and I'm feeling quite old now without much notable achievements. At least I went into Ngee Ann Polytechnic right? Let's hope I can graduate out of the school then! I just feel that within these ten years that so much has happened, so much has changed and so much have drastically become more difficult to endure, you just want to go back to where times were much easier, much carefree. It's not like I have much of a choice either though. As of now, just keeping myself happy and hopefully one day, I get to find my other half as well.
Signing off,
Yai Kai Soon
